Trevarrian Lodge

Trevarrian Lodge is a six-room bed and breakfast in the hamlet of Trevarrian, on the coast road 4 miles north of Newquay and 8 miles south of Padstow. All six rooms are en suite, a mix of family, double, twin and single, several with countryside or sea views. Newquay Airport is a mile away by road.

Rooms come with Freeview TV, tea and coffee facilities, and a guest lounge stocked with board games, books and DVDs to borrow. Free WiFi runs throughout the building and off-street parking is included. Ironing is available on request; washing and drying cost extra. All six rooms have shower facilities rather than a bath.

Dogs are welcome in pet-friendly rooms for GBP10 a night; the owners keep treats and towels ready and set aside tables at breakfast for guests travelling with a dog. Mawgan Porth beach is 1,400 metres away on the coast path, and Watergate Bay is 1.1 miles further along the shore. Padstow's Rick Stein's Seafood Restaurant and Paul Ainsworth's Number 6 are a short drive north.

Best for dog owners wanting a beach within walking distance and guests happy with a shower-only en suite in exchange for a hearty cooked breakfast. Less good for anyone who wants a bath or expects nightlife on the doorstep, since the lodge sits in a quiet hamlet with a single local pub nearby.
