Wheal Charlotte Cottage

Wheal Charlotte Cottage is a two-bedroom property in Perranuthnoe village, sleeping 4 in one bathroom. The village pub and shop are about 100 metres from the door, and Perranuthnoe Beach is 400 metres down the lane. The cottage has wifi, parking, a dishwasher, washing machine, and a private garden. Dogs are welcome.

Perranuthnoe Beach faces south into Mount's Bay, a sandy, relatively sheltered stretch that is less exposed than the north coast breaks. The beach cafe at the top of the sand is well regarded locally for its crab sandwiches. At low tide the beach extends significantly, and rock pools appear at the western end. The South West Coast Path runs directly past - Prussia Cove, a cluster of rocky inlets associated with 18th-century smuggling, is accessible along the path heading west.

Marazion is 2.4km east, the nearest town and the departure point for the tidal causeway to St Michael's Mount. The Mount itself is open to visitors when the causeway is passable - the castle and subtropical gardens on the tidal island are managed by the National Trust. Penzance is about 5km further east, with a mainline rail connection to London in around 5 hours.

Right for dog owners and couples who want a genuine village base with the beach in easy reach, without driving to reach daily essentials. Not great for those needing more than 2 bedrooms or wanting sea views from the property. Changeover day is Saturday.
