Sinns Common

Sinns Common

Sinns Common is a small hamlet near Redruth in Central Cornwall, set among rolling farmland with views towards St Agnes Beacon and the coast. The hamlet is home to Globe Vale Holiday Park, a 13-acre site that has become a local landmark.

The Mineral Tramways cycle and walking network passes close by, following the routes of old mineral railways that once served the area’s tin and copper mines. These traffic-free paths connect a string of former mining sites across the Camborne-Redruth belt, now part of the Cornwall and West Devon Mining Landscape UNESCO World Heritage Site.

The north coast beaches at Porthtowan and Portreath are both about 10 minutes away by car. Redruth town centre, with its shops, cafes and railway station, is roughly two and a half miles to the east. Camborne is a similar distance to the west.

Sinns Common suits visitors who want a rural setting within easy reach of both the coast and the old mining heartland. The surrounding area is crisscrossed with footpaths and lanes, and the lack of through traffic keeps the hamlet quiet even in peak season. The Blue Hills Tin Streams at Trevellas, about 4 miles north near St Agnes, is one of the last working tin-streaming operations in Cornwall and runs tours showing traditional methods. Tehidy Country Park, a 250-acre woodland estate between Camborne and the coast, has nine waymarked trails and a cafe.
