Museum of Witchcraft and Magic

Cecil Williamson opened the museum on the Isle of Man in 1951 and moved it to the harbour at Boscastle in 1960. It is devoted to the history, folklore and cultural significance of witchcraft, magic and the occult. Artefacts, manuscripts, artwork and objects relating to folklore, ritual magic and modern paganism make up its collection, and displays cover spells, charms, divination, herbalism and ceremonial magic.

The museum also looks at the social and historical contexts of witchcraft belief, and how those beliefs have been interpreted over time. The 2004 Boscastle flood damaged the building and destroyed part of the collection, and the museum took its current name in 2015.

It is a seasonal museum. For 2026 the museum lists opening from early April to 31 October, daily from 10am to 5.30pm with last entry at 4.30pm, so it is closed over the winter. Check the website for the exact reopening date. Admission is £8 for adults, £5 for children aged 6 to 17, and free for under-5s.
