Situated a short distance south of the town of Bude, on the north coast of Cornwall, England, lies the lovely and spacious beach known as Widemouth Bay. Widemouth Bay is a well-liked location for families, surfers, and outdoor enthusiasts because of its expansive sandy shoreline, great surf conditions, and magnificent coastal scenery. With over two miles of coastline, there is no shortage of area for beach activities, sunbathing, and leisurely strolls down the shore. It is a great place to swim and paddle because of the golden sands and crystal-clear blue seas, especially in the summer.
Because of its great surf conditions, Widemouth Bay draws surfers of all abilities. It is a favorite location for both novice and expert surfers due to the reliable waves and variety of breaks. There are numerous surf schools and rental companies in the vicinity that provide instruction and equipment for surfers wishing to tackle the waves.
Widemouth Bay boasts a variety of water sports in addition to surfing, such as windsurfing, bodyboarding, and kayaking. Families with young children will enjoy exploring and learning about marine life in the rock pools that are exposed during low tide. There is plenty of parking, restrooms, and coastal cafes and eateries offering light fare and refreshments at Widemouth Bay. During the busiest time of year, lifeguards are on duty to protect swimmers and surfers.
