Sandydrift

Sandydrift is a two-bedroom cottage 100 metres from Widemouth Bay beach on the north Cornwall coast, sleeping four. The proximity to the beach is the defining fact here - the surf is audible from the garden. Two dogs welcome; off-road parking included.

Two bedrooms on the upper floor - a king-size and a standard double - serve four guests across three bathrooms, an unusually generous ratio. A wood burner anchors the living space for evenings after a day in the Atlantic. The kitchen comes with a washing machine; BBQ on the garden terrace for fair-weather evenings. No dishwasher.

Widemouth Bay is a broad, south-facing surf beach with RNLI lifeguard cover from May to September, a cafe and toilets on site, and reliable swell that brings surf schools and board hire. Millook Beach - a quieter pebble cove to the south - is 1.6 miles along the coast path. Summerleaze Beach in Bude is 2.9 miles north; Bude town covers supermarkets, pubs, a sea pool, and the canal-side cycle route to Helebridge.

**Best for:** couples or families of four who want to roll out of bed and onto a surf beach; dog-friendly stays within walking distance of the water. **Less good for:** guests who prefer a quieter, more secluded setting - Widemouth Bay is a busy surf destination in July and August.
