Bodmin Railway’s 2026 operating calendar includes Santa by Steam, but the railway has not yet published its list of 2026 Santa running days. Specific dates will appear on the railway’s booking pages.
Details from previous seasons - gifts, gingerbread activities, journey length and prices - may change; the 2026 format will be confirmed when the railway publishes it.
The setting is worth knowing when judging whether the trip is worth a winter journey. Bodmin Railway is a preserved line running just over six miles, with heritage services operating since 1990. Trains leave from Bodmin General and run in two directions: down to Bodmin Parkway, where the line meets the mainline network, and out to Boscarne Junction, which has been a junction since 1888 and once passed services towards Wadebridge, Padstow and Wenfordbridge. Colesloggett Halt, opened in 1993, sits between Bodmin General and Bodmin Parkway. Which of those routes the Santa services use, and how long the round trip takes, is one of the details the railway confirms when it publishes the season.
