A wood burner and air conditioning cover both ends of the year, and there's a power shower plus storage for surfboards and bikes. The kitchen is fully equipped, there's a dining area and work desk, and the garden and terrace get free WiFi. The hosts previously ran The Quies, a highly rated Newquay hotel, for ten years before converting this bungalow annexe.

Crantock Beach is roughly 1,000 metres away, about a 13-minute walk, and the village centre with its two pubs, shop and tea rooms is five minutes on foot. Polly Joke beach, which has its own pub restaurant, is a further ten-minute walk. Newquay is a 10-minute drive and Perranporth is 15 minutes, with surfing available at both.

Best for couples wanting a self-contained base near the beach without a hotel's overhead. Less good for groups or families, since the single bedroom sleeps two at most.
