An Selder

An Selder is a Grade II listed one-bedroom apartment converted from an old warehouse store, sitting on Trafalgar Square in the centre of Fowey, metres from the working harbour waterfront. It sleeps 2 and accepts one dog.

Inside, original timber beams and flagstone flooring run through the apartment. The contemporary bathroom has exposed stone walls, a free-standing bath, and a double shower. The king-size bedroom looks onto a courtyard garden; a large glass door connects the kitchen and dining area to that outdoor space. A separate living room has a Smart TV and Bluetooth sound system, and Starlink provides the WiFi connection.

Readymoney Cove, the sheltered sandy cove below St Catherine’s Castle (a Henry VIII fort built between 1538 and 1540), is about 600 metres away on foot. Lantic Bay is roughly 1.3 miles further along the coast. The Fowey to Polruan passenger ferry crosses in under 5 minutes and connects walkers to the 4-mile Hall Walk circular. Bufala pizza is next door to the apartment; The Ship Inn sits opposite. Sam’s on Fore Street, open since 1987, serves locally landed fish.

**Best for:** Couples who want a characterful harbour base with immediate access to Fowey’s restaurants, ferries, and coast path. Dog owners needing a central, walkable base (one pet accepted).

**Less good for:** Families - the apartment sleeps only 2. Those expecting a beach holiday: Fowey’s nearest beach requires a short walk.
