The house was once one of Fowey's 18th-century alms houses, and it keeps exposed painted beams, a granite fireplace, and the original Georgian windows and doors. The living room has a Freeview TV and an electric wood burner; the kitchen runs a washing machine, coffee machine, and electric cooker. One car parks on site, with a bus stop just outside. There's no dishwasher, and the cottage isn't set up for step-free access.

A covered passageway opens onto a private terrace, shared with one neighbouring holiday home, looking toward Place House and Fimbarrus Church with glimpses of the estuary. Fowey's harbour, shops and restaurants are a two-minute walk down the hill, and St Catherine's Castle is a 12-minute walk along the coast path. The Eden Project is within reach by car for a day out.
