Outside, a private garden and parking sit beside the cabin. Footpaths lead directly from the door along the river and through surrounding woodland - dogs can be walked straight out without a drive. Lostwithiel, the former medieval capital of Cornwall, is about 1-2 miles away. Fore Street has antique shops and there is a regular farmers' market in town; Restormel Castle, managed by English Heritage, sits on a hilltop just above.
