Chestnut Cottage is a single-level, two-bedroom cottage near Penryn that once formed part of the Enys Estate. It sleeps 4 in a king-size room and a twin, with one bathroom.

A vaulted ceiling rises above the open lounge and kitchen, where a wood burner is the main feature. Double doors lead from the lounge onto a fully enclosed terrace with a barbecue, giving a contained outdoor space for children or dogs, which are welcome. Parking, a dishwasher and washing machine are included. The kitchen has an electric oven and hob, microwave and fridge, and there is a Smart TV in the lounge. The shower room holds the washing machine, and the gravelled drive has parking for two cars.

Falmouth is a short drive away for Pendennis Castle and the National Maritime Museum. Swanpool Beach is 3.2 miles from the cottage, Gyllyngvase Beach is 3.3 miles and Castle Beach is 3.5 miles, so a car is needed for all three.

**Best for:** a small family or dog owners wanting a self-contained terrace and easy access to Falmouth. **Less good for:** guests relying on step-free access or a beach within walking distance.
