The nearest stretch of sand is Sandymouth Beach at 5.8km - a National Trust beach with a seasonal cafe, backed by low grassy cliffs and with rock pools at low tide. Northcott Mouth is 6.1km and Duckpool 6.2km, both Atlantic-facing and less visited than the main Bude beaches. The town centre and Summerleaze surf beach are about 10 minutes by car.

East Thorne is a small working farm complex that has been converted into a glamping resort; the roundhouses each have their own pitch, so the experience is relatively private despite the shared setting.

Best for groups or families wanting a self-contained rural base with a hot tub and dog-friendly grounds. Less suited to anyone prioritising walkable beach access - the Atlantic coast is nearby but not walking distance.
