Folly View is a single-storey cottage at Hitchen Heights near Illogan, sleeping six in three bedrooms. The property sits between the old mining towns of Redruth and Camborne, with the north coast at Portreath a short drive away.

The layout is all on one level. A king-size bedroom has its own TV and en-suite with walk-in shower. Two twin rooms share a family bathroom with bath and separate walk-in shower. The open-plan living space covers kitchen, dining, and sitting areas, centred around a woodburning stove. A dishwasher, washing machine, and WiFi are standard. One well-behaved dog is welcome.

The front garden has a patio, lawn, sun loungers, and a barbecue - enough space for the full party to eat outside. A storage shed for bikes is a practical addition given the cycling trails in the area. Off-road parking takes up to four cars.

Portreath Beach - a sandy north coast beach backed by a historic harbour - is 1.9 miles away, reachable by road or through Tehidy Country Park's 250 acres of woodland trails. Trevaunance Cove at St Agnes, with its visible mine workings on the cliffs, is 4.5 miles along the coast. The Mineral Tramways cycling network, following former mining routes through the UNESCO World Heritage mining district, passes close to the property.

Best for groups of up to 6 with one well-behaved dog, thanks to the garden, barbecue and woodburning stove for cooler evenings. Less suited to guests wanting to walk to the beach, as Portreath is a 1.9-mile drive, or to those needing step-free access.
