Henford Cottage

Henford Cottage is a four-bedroom country property for eight in North Tamerton, a remote parish in the upper Tamar Valley close to the Devon border. The bedrooms comprise a seven-foot emperor, a king, a twin and a room with a single and toddler bed, so the final sleeping place suits a young child rather than an adult. Three bathrooms serve the group.

The cottage sits in two acres of former rectory grounds, surrounded by mature trees, shrubs and flowers, with a children's play area among the fruit trees. A wood burner and open fire are both included, alongside a garden and barbecue. WiFi, parking and a dishwasher are included. Up to four dogs can stay.

Widemouth Bay is 7.6 miles away, a dog-friendly surf beach with cafes and parking. Millook Beach, known for its folded cliff strata rather than swimming, is 8.1 miles away, and Summerleaze Beach, Bude's main beach with its tidal sea pool, is 8.9 miles from the cottage.

**Best for:** A family wanting extensive grounds, a children's play area, three bathrooms, fireside features and room for four dogs.

**Less good for:** Eight adult guests without a toddler in the group, or anyone needing step-free access or a beach within walking distance.
