Jackdaws Fowey

Jackdaws Fowey is a two-bedroom cottage in the centre of Fowey with rooftop-to-river views across the estuary. One king-size and one twin bedroom sleep four guests, served by a single bathroom - a configuration that works for two couples, a family with younger children, or friends travelling together. The cottage has no outside space, but a free parking pass for a nearby numbered space handles the main logistical challenge of staying in Fowey's tightly packed centre.

Readymoney Cove is 900 metres from the front door - a compact sandy beach at the mouth of the Fowey estuary with calm water suited to swimming and rock pooling. The beach sits below the remains of St Catherine's Castle, and the short coastal path from town to cove passes ferry landing points where the Bodinnick ferry crosses every few minutes in season.

Lantic Bay lies 2.2km along the South West Coast Path - a steeper walk than Readymoney but less frequented and reliably quieter in peak weeks. Fowey town itself holds enough restaurants, galleries, and walking routes for several days without needing a car. The Daphne du Maurier Literary Festival takes place annually in May, drawing visitors focused on the town rather than beach access.

Best for couples or small families wanting a town-centre Fowey base with car parking sorted and estuary views. Suits those who'll walk to the beach rather than drive. Less good for groups needing outdoor entertaining space, large kitchens, or more than one bathroom.
