A roomy, ground-floor lodge sleeping six is tailor-made for families or friends looking for a base near St Merryn and the North Coast beaches. A bar serving food in on the site and there are shops, pubs and restaurants in the village of St Merryn a mile away. Some of the North Coast’s finest golden beaches are within easy reach, including Constantine Bay, Trevone, and Harlyn Bay (all 2.5 miles), where novice surfers can test their skills. The fishing port of s Padstow (3.5 miles) is full of character and charm. Explore its cobbled streets, book a fishing or pleasure boat trip from the colourful harbour, or improve your handicap at the Trevose Golf Course. Enjoy a walk or bike ride through the countryside along the Camel Trail and for family fun, head to the St Eval Kart circuit (4.5 miles).

A light and airy open-plan living room/kitchen/diner is attractively furnished in contemporary style, with double doors opening on to a large timber deck and garden. There are three bedrooms- one double with an en-suite shower room, one twin and one twin for children. A streamlined family bathroom has a bath with separate shower and WC.

A large outside deck with lighting and stylish garden furniture for outdoor dining acts an extension to the living room. Steps lead down to an enclosed, lawned garden with a view over fields.

Best for families with children, thanks to the on-site play area and tennis court, plus a twin bedroom set up for children. Less good for guests needing Wi-Fi, since the lodge doesn't have an internet connection.
