La Petit Maison

La Petit Maison is a two-bedroom cottage set within the grounds of Bospolvans House outside St Columb Major, sleeping 4 with 3 bathrooms. It has an open fire, a BBQ, and an enclosed garden, and there are two steps between the kitchen/dining area and the sitting area, so it is not step-free inside. Dogs are welcome. Parking, Wi-Fi, dishwasher, and washing machine are all included. Friday changeover.

St Columb Major is an inland market town sitting roughly in the middle of north Cornwall, which means both coastlines are accessible - Watergate Bay is 4.3 miles to the north-west, while Mawgan Porth is 4.6 miles. Whipsiderry Beach adds a third option at 4.9 miles. The town has shops, a pub, and a regular farmers' market. It is not a beach-fronting location, but the drive times are short enough that most of the north coast is reachable within 20 minutes.

The position also works well for inland Cornwall. The Eden Project is around 25 minutes east. Bodmin Moor is reachable within half an hour for walking country. The Camel Trail - a flat cycle path between Bodmin and Padstow - starts less than 20 minutes away and suits families with dogs or anyone wanting a low-effort day out.

Right for small families or couples who want flexibility across both coasts rather than a single beach location - the central position is a genuine advantage here. Less good for those who want the sea on the doorstep, as all nearby beaches involve a drive. The three bathrooms for four guests is a practical bonus worth noting.
