Lanyon is a four-bedroom cottage on Headland Road in Carbis Bay, sleeping eight with sea views across St Ives Bay. The property sits 900 metres from Carbis Bay beach - a Blue Flag sandy cove with lifeguard cover in season.

Inside, four bedrooms include a super-king, a zip-link king (convertible to twin), a king with tempur mattress, and a twin. Two bathrooms each have a bath, basin, heated towel rail, and WC, with an additional ground-floor WC. The sitting room has an open fire, and the kitchen is fitted with an oven, hob, fridge, and coffee maker. A separate dining room provides space for the full group.

The enclosed rear garden has lawn, patio furniture, and a Swedish-style wood-fired hot tub - guests supply their own wood. Private driveway parking is included. Carbis Bay beach is a 10-minute walk down the hill, while Porthkidney Beach - a wide, dune-backed strand in the Hayle Estuary - lies 0.8 miles away. Porthminster Beach in St Ives is 1.4 miles along the coast path.

Carbis Bay village has shops and cafes along the main road. St Ives is a 25-minute walk along the coast path or one stop on the St Ives Bay branch line from Carbis Bay halt. Two dogs are welcome at the property.

Best for larger groups or two families travelling with dogs, thanks to four bedrooms, sea views and a private hot tub in the garden. Less good for guests needing step-free access, since the walk back from Carbis Bay beach is uphill and the cottage has no such features itself.
