Little Avallen

Little Avallen is a south-facing annexe off a private road in Carlyon Bay, sleeping four guests. One double bedroom and one twin room share a single bathroom, giving a small family or two friends a straightforward layout.

Sea views stretch from Trenarren towards Gribben Head, and a seating area at the front of the annexe makes the most of that outlook. Wi-Fi, parking and a dishwasher are included, and dogs are not accepted. The kitchen has an electric oven and gas hob, a fridge with ice box, a dishwasher and a microwave. The shower room has a corner shower and is reached only from the double bedroom. A paved area at the front has a bistro table and two chairs.

Carlyon Bay is 400 metres away, Charlestown Beach is 700 metres from the annexe and Porthpean Beach is 1.1 miles further along the coast. The South West Coast Path connects Carlyon Bay to Charlestown, a Georgian harbour village with tall ships that has doubled as a film set for Poldark, in around 45 minutes on foot. The Eden Project and the Lost Gardens of Heligan are both under 10 minutes away by car.

**Best for:** a small family or two friends wanting sea views and a beach within 400 metres, plus easy access to the Eden Project and Heligan. **Less good for:** dog owners, guests wanting two bathrooms, or longer stays that need on-site washing facilities.
