Padstow is roughly 5km north-east, giving access to restaurants, the Saturday market, and the Camel Trail. Rick Stein's fish and chip shop on South Quay is a reliable option for an evening takeaway after beach days. The Camel Trail itself connects Padstow to Wadebridge and Bodmin along an off-road cycling route through estuary and farmland - a popular half-day activity for mixed groups.
