Inside, the layout is open-plan: kitchen, dining area, and sitting area flow together in one room with an open fire. The kitchen has an electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, and dishwasher. A walk-in shower room serves all three bedrooms - two doubles and a single. An external utility holds the washing machine and tumble dryer. Wi-Fi and ample off-road parking are included.

The enclosed garden has a lawn, outdoor seating, and direct access to surrounding woodland. Note that a shallow pond is present, so children need supervision outdoors. The nearest coast is about 11 miles north - Bossiney Cove near Tintagel is a secluded sandy cove accessible at low tide. Tregardock Beach, a remote stretch with dramatic rock formations, is the same distance.

Altarnun itself has St Nonna's church - known as the Cathedral of the Moor - with a 15th-century tower over 100 feet high and 79 carved bench ends. Bodmin Moor starts at the village edge. Launceston, with its Norman castle and shops, is 5 miles east; the A30 passes 2 miles south.

**Best for:** walkers, moor explorers, and couples or families wanting rural quiet and literary history (Jamaica Inn at Bolventor is 4 miles west). **Less good for:** beach-focused holidays - the nearest coast takes 20-plus minutes by car.
