Merlyn 6 is a three-bedroom cottage for six in central Porthleven, a working harbour village that has become one of Cornwall's notable food destinations. A king, a double and a twin divide the group across three distinct rooms, and two bathrooms serve the cottage.

Sliding doors lead from the living area onto a lawned garden, and an outdoor shower is useful after a swim or a day on the beach. A wood burner and a barbecue cover cooler evenings and outdoor meals. WiFi and parking are included, and dogs can stay. There is no dishwasher or washing machine, worth noting for longer stays.

Porthleven Beach is 700 metres away, facing south-west with strong winter surf for experienced surfers and calmer water at the harbour end for swimming. Rinsey Cove is 2.4 miles from the cottage and Praa Sands is 3.4 miles.

The harbour itself has become known for its food, with Kota Restaurant and Kota Kai from Rick Stein-trained chef Jude Kereama, plus Amelie's and the Harbourside Refuge, all within walking distance, and the annual Porthleven Food Festival draws crowds each April.
