Mill House is a three-bedroom house at Penpoll in St Veep, set on one of the tidal creeks feeding the Fowey estuary. The house faces the water directly, giving an estuarine outlook unusual for a self-catering property at this price - £619 per week in low season, rising to £1,330 at peak.

Inside, three bedrooms share a single bathroom. The kitchen and living space are sized for the five the cottage sleeps. Wi-Fi and a washing machine are included. Steep stairs lead up to the landing, so the house is not step-free. Dogs are welcome.

A garden runs alongside the house with direct access onto footpaths along the tidal creek. Private parking sits on site. The water's edge is the draw here rather than a beach - Fowey's sandy coves are about six miles away by road, though committed walkers can trace the creekside paths all the way to Fowey town. The Eden Project at Bodelva is a similar distance inland, and Polperro and Looe are both reachable along the south coast.

Best for families or dog owners who want a quiet, water-edge retreat away from the beach-holiday crowds. Less good for guests who need more than one bathroom between five, or want reliable sea swimming on the doorstep.
