Number Forty

Number Forty is a town-centre cottage in Fowey, sleeping four across a double and a king-size room with two bathrooms - useful when both rooms are in use at once. The cottage looks over the River Fowey from inside and from a rear patio, in the middle of the harbour town rather than on its edge.

A feature fireplace and wood burner sit alongside underfloor heating, so the cottage stays warm through the colder months. WiFi, a dishwasher, a washer/dryer, garden and barbecue are included. The kitchen has a range cooker, fridge/freezer and microwave, with a breakfast bar and a dining area for four. The first floor has a double bedroom with a feature fireplace, a shower room with underfloor heating and a bathroom with a slipper bath. The king-size bedroom on the second floor has exposed beams. Dogs are not accepted here.

Readymoney Cove is 900 metres away, below St Catherine's Castle. Lantic Bay is 1.4 miles from the cottage and Lansallos Beach 2.6 miles. The Fowey to Polruan passenger ferry crosses in under five minutes, and the Hall Walk, a 4-mile circular route using both the Polruan and Bodinnick ferries, starts nearby. Bodinnick itself is the closest listed town.

**Best for:** two couples or a family of four wanting two bathrooms, river views and a genuinely central Fowey position with the harbour and ferries on foot.

**Less good for:** dog owners.
