Olde Carpenters Cottage

Olde Carpenters Cottage is a single-storey 2-bedroom property in Boscastle, sleeping 4 across 2 bathrooms. Both bedrooms are on the ground floor and the cottage sits alongside the river that runs through the harbour valley. Dogs are welcome. Wifi, parking, dishwasher, and washing machine are included.

Bossiney Cove is the nearest beach at 2.3 miles - a remote sandy cove accessible via a steep cliff path, with no facilities and no lifeguard cover. It is worth the effort for the rock pools and the relative quiet. Crackington Haven is 4.4 miles along the coast, a National Trust beach in a steep-sided combe with a seasonal cafe. Tregardock Beach, 5.7 miles away, is one of the most isolated stretches of sand on the north Cornwall coast.

Boscastle harbour is within easy reach of the cottage - the narrow inlet runs between high cliffs and was rebuilt after a flash flood in August 2004 that destroyed much of the village. The Museum of Witchcraft and Magic is on the harbour, and the South West Coast Path passes through, running south to Tintagel and north towards Bude. The village has a pub and a National Trust visitor centre.

Ideal for couples or small groups of up to 4 who want a base in a working harbour village with coast path walking on the doorstep. Less good for guests who need accessible accommodation or a beach within walking distance. Changeover is Friday.
