Oyster Cottage

French doors from the living room of Oyster Cottage open onto a private south-facing patio with garden furniture and a barbecue. The cottage is a two-bedroom terrace inside the Pendra Loweth holiday village, a short drive from the centre of Falmouth, and it sleeps four.

On the ground floor, the open plan living room includes kitchen and dining areas, and a cloakroom with a basin and WC. The kitchen has an electric oven and hob, a microwave, a fridge, a wine fridge, a coffee machine and a washing machine. The living room has a 50-inch Smart TV with Freeview, Alexa, books and games, and fast fibreoptic WiFi. Upstairs are a double and a twin bedroom and a family bathroom with a bath and a shower over it. Heating is electric central heating, and fuel, power, bed linen and towels are included. Toiletries are not provided, there is no daily cleaner, and a cot and high chair can be requested.

The resort has a plunge pool, a spa pool, tennis courts and a children's play area. The pool and spa pool keep seasonal hours, usually from early April to the end of October, while the tennis courts and play area stay open all year. The plunge pool is shared, about 3 metres on each side and 1.4 metres deep, with space for 4 people at any one time. Maenporth Beach is a 15-minute walk, with a beach cafe, kayak and paddle board hire, and the shop and pub are 1 mile away. Falmouth has the National Maritime Museum and boat trips across the River Fal.

Parking is one off-road space beside the cottage, and electric car charging points stand outside the office. Check-in is at 4pm. No pets or smoking are allowed, and stag, hen and similar groups are not accepted. Work or business bookings are cancelled, and commercial vehicles are turned away at the site entrance. The stairs to both bedrooms make it less good for anyone who cannot manage them, and it suits two couples or a family of four.
