Petra 2

Petra 2 is a one-bedroom apartment for two in central Marazion, one of the oldest chartered towns in Britain and 2 miles east of Penzance. The king-size bedroom and one bathroom suit a couple; dogs are not accepted. Sea views towards St Michael's Mount, the National Trust island reached by a causeway at low tide, are the defining feature.

Marazion Beach is 100 metres away, and the half-mile stretch of sand keeps the Mount as a constant backdrop. Long Rock Beach is 1.3 miles from the apartment and Perranuthnoe Beach is 1.6 miles. The Marazion guide covers the seafront's cafes, galleries and independent shops, all a short walk from the apartment.

Wi-Fi and a washing machine cover connectivity and laundry for a longer stay. The kitchen has an electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge, freezer and washing machine. The bedroom has a four-poster king-size bed and a chaise longue. Guests who need step-free access should check with the owners before booking.

The marshes just inland from the seafront are an important birdwatching site, particularly for wading birds during migration season.

**Best for:** a couple who prioritise sea views, Mount views and immediate beach access over space or parking. **Less good for:** guests needing step-free access or a dog-friendly stay.
