Skylark Studio

Skylark Studio is a single-level, one-bedroom cottage near Camelford in north Cornwall, sleeping two in a king-size bedroom. The studio is on a working farm and has a garden, parking, dishwasher and washing machine on site. Dogs are not accepted. It suits short breaks and off-season getaways in the north Cornwall corridor. The shower room has a walk-in shower, and guests who need step-free access should check with the owner before booking.

Woodland and moorland walks start from the door - a feature that separates Camelford from the coastal resorts, where non-beach activities require more planning. The area sits at the edge of Bodmin Moor and within reach of the Atlantic coast simultaneously. Tregardock Beach is 4.2 miles - a remote, rocky cove only accessible on foot at low tide, best suited to walkers rather than families with young children. Bossiney Cove, 4.8 miles away, is smaller and more sheltered, accessible via a short cliff path.

Camelford has local shops, pubs and a small museum covering the town's role in Arthurian legend - the River Camel rising nearby is one of the sites associated with the battle of Camlann. Tintagel is 7 miles north along the B3266, with the English Heritage castle ruin and associated visitor experience making it the area's main day-trip draw. Boscastle village, with its harbour and National Trust visitor centre, is within easy reach for a half-day out.

Best for couples or solo travellers who want quiet moorland surroundings with coastal day trips available but not mandatory. Works for walkers and those wanting somewhere calm and low-stimulus. Not great for guests who want beach access from the door or need more than two beds - the studio format is genuinely compact and better suited to a couple than any larger group.
