Skylark

Skylark is a three-bedroom house near Hayle on the north coast of Cornwall - one of three properties on a 100-acre working farm with views over St Ives Bay from the rear. The farm was once part of the Basset family estate. It sleeps six across a double and two twin bedrooms, with two bathrooms.

Inside, the layout works well for families. One dog of any size is welcome - an accessible property with wifi, dishwasher and washing machine. The kitchen is fully equipped and the living area faces toward the bay views.

Outside, there is an enclosed garden, private parking at the end of the farm drive, and undercover storage for bikes and beach kit. The farm also offers stabling and grazing for horses on request.

Gwithian Beach sits about 2 miles by road - dunes, surf, and a long open stretch of sand. The South West Coast Path passes close by, with Hells Mouth viewpoint around half a mile away and Godrevy Point lighthouse at 2 miles. Pubs in Gwithian and Portreath cover evening meals. Hayle town is roughly 3 miles for a supermarket, and St Ives is around 20 minutes by car.

Best for families or couples wanting coast path access without being in a resort town. Less good for those wanting walkable evening dining - the nearest pubs need a car.
