Starfish

Starfish is a single-storey cabin on a working farm on the outskirts of Bude, sleeping two in a king-size bed with underfloor heating throughout. The accommodation combines cabin-style simplicity with practical comforts - a fitted kitchenette, outdoor BBQ, and parking are included, and dogs are welcome. On-site facilities include an indoor BBQ area and a shell studio available to guests during their stay.

The cabin layout is compact and suited to couples rather than families, with the single bedroom and kitchenette arranged around an open floor plan. The working farm setting means the surrounding fields are active rather than purely ornamental, which suits guests who want proximity to the countryside rather than a manufactured holiday park environment. The underfloor heating makes the cabin usable across the shoulder seasons in a way that traditional Cornish stone properties sometimes are not.

Three beaches serve the area within a short drive. Summerleaze Beach is 2.3km north, a town beach in Bude with a tidal swimming pool, cafes, and reliable surf. Crooklets Beach at 2.8km is the primary surf beach used by Bude's surf schools and better known for consistent breaking waves. Widemouth Bay at 3.6km is the broadest of the three, with a long stretch of sand at low tide and strong conditions for experienced surfers.

Best for couples who want a quiet base near Bude without paying town-centre prices, with dogs welcome and beaches within 15 minutes on foot or 5 minutes by car. Not ideal for guests needing more than one bedroom, cooking facilities beyond a kitchenette, or walking distance to shops.
