Treneglos is a small hamlet in north-east Cornwall, positioned in the countryside between Bude on the coast and Launceston on the Devon border. The landscape here is distinct - quieter and less visited than the tourist heartland around Newquay or St Ives - with narrow lanes, traditional farmland, and consistent views across open countryside.

The nearest beaches are about 12km west. Crackington Haven Beach is 12.4km, a dramatic sandy cove at the foot of some of the highest cliffs on the south-west peninsula, with a pub, toilets, and a National Trust car park at the top. Millook Beach is also 12.4km, a remote pebble beach south of Crackington with no facilities and an impressive cliff backdrop. Widemouth Bay is 13.7km, a wide sandy beach south of Bude popular with surfers and families, with a car park and surf hire.

Bude is around 20 minutes by car with a canal, sea pools, and a good range of shops. Launceston is 15 minutes east, with a Norman castle and the main supermarket options for this area. The A39 Atlantic Highway connects the towns directly.

Good for couples or families who want a quiet rural base with coastal day trips. Works well for those with accessibility requirements. Not great for anyone without a car - there is no public transport of note through Treneglos.
