cottage Porth
Sunnynook
from £499/week
Sea-view cottage 800m from Whipsiderry Beach
A compact one-bedroom bungalow on a quiet Porth residential road, set high enough that you catch sea between the rooftops. Sunnynook sleeps two and works for couples who want a small base near the coast without paying Newquay seafront prices. Off-street parking is included.
The cottage is mid-terrace, fully double-glazed, and laid out as a single-level bungalow. Inside it's a one-bedroom layout with a small kitchen and sitting area - functional rather than designed, but warm and well kept. There's no sea view from the windows, just a glimpse from outside the front door. No dogs.
Porth Beach is a five-minute walk downhill, with the Mermaid Inn a few doors before the sand. The beach itself is the wide, sheltered cove with the iconic footbridge to Trevelgue Head and the best rockpools on this stretch of coast. Central Newquay and Fistral Beach sit a mile south. Watergate Bay is three miles north along the coast path. St Columb Minor (5 minutes by car) has a Co-op and a traditional pub.
Best for couples who want a quiet base within walking distance of a sandy beach. Less good for anyone needing a sea view from the property itself or travelling with a dog.
