The Dairy Barn

The Dairy Barn is a converted three-bedroom barn at Great Tregath near Camelford, sleeping 6 across 3 bedrooms with 2 bathrooms. The conversion retains character while adding the features that matter: a hot tub in the garden, an open fire for cool evenings, and a south-facing garden for sitting out. Wi-Fi, parking, dishwasher, and washing machine are all included.

Camelford sits at the northern edge of Bodmin Moor, with Cornwall's two highest points - Rough Tor and Brown Willy - reachable within a short drive. The walking is genuinely quiet by Cornish standards: open moorland, wild ponies, and none of the coastal-path crowds. The 13th-century ruins of Tintagel Castle are about 15 minutes west along the Atlantic coast.

For beaches, Bossiney Cove - a secluded sand-and-rock cove near Tintagel accessible at low tide - is around 4 miles. Tregardock Beach, one of north Cornwall's harder-to-reach stretches, is a similar distance. Port Isaac, known for its steep harbour lanes, is about 7 miles north. Camelford town itself has independent shops and a weekly Friday market.

**Best for:** Couples or families who want moor walking with Arthurian coast access, a hot tub for evenings, and a quieter corner of north Cornwall. **Less good for:** Those wanting a beach-first base - the coast is a 20-minute drive in any direction.
