The Maples, no. 56

The Maples No. 56 is a single-storey, two-bedroom cottage on Meadow Lakes Holiday Park near Hewas Water, about two miles west of Polgooth. It sleeps four across a king-size room and a twin, with two bathrooms.

The open-plan lounge, kitchen and dining area has a Smart TV and dishwasher, and Wi-Fi and parking are included. Outside, a decked patio and private garden sit alongside access to the park's heated pool and children's play barn - useful for families wanting on-site entertainment without leaving the grounds. Dogs are not accepted, and changeover day is Friday.

St Austell, with its mainline station and brewery visitor centre, is about four miles east, and Mevagissey's harbour is a short drive south. The Pentewan Valley Trail, a traffic-free cycling and walking path to the coast, passes about a mile from the park, and the Eden Project is roughly three miles north. Pentewan Beach is 3.5 miles away, Porthpean Beach is 4.3 miles and Porthluney Bay is 4.4 miles - all requiring a drive rather than a walk. The Grampound guide covers the wider area.

**Best for:** A small family wanting pool access, a children's play barn and a single-storey layout.

**Less good for:** Dog owners, guests wanting an in-cottage washing machine, or anyone who prefers a standalone cottage to a holiday park.
