The Strawberry Patch

The Strawberry Patch is a single-level, one-bedroom cottage at Stibb, about 2 miles south of Bude, sleeping 2. The king-size zip-and-link bed can be arranged as twins on request, giving a couple or two friends a choice of layout, and there's one bathroom.

Skylights and underfloor heating feature in the open-plan living space. The kitchen has a dishwasher and washing machine, and outside there's a garden with a barbecue and on-site parking. The living area has a tiled floor, corner seating and a TV, and the dining table has room for four. The bedroom has its own TV, the bathroom is a shower room with a walk-in shower, and the private decking has wooden chairs. Up to two dogs are welcome.

Stibb sits within the Cornwall Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, on higher ground with views toward the coast and none of the summer through-traffic found in Bude itself. Summerleaze Beach, with its tidal sea pool, is 1.4 miles away, Crooklets Beach, Bude's main surf spot, is 1.7 miles and Widemouth Bay 2.2 miles. The Bude Canal, built in the 1820s, runs close to the hamlet and makes a flat, sheltered walking and cycling route into town.

**Best for:** a couple or two friends wanting underfloor heating, a garden and quick access to Bude's beaches without the town's summer parking queues. **Less good for:** anyone needing confirmed step-free access.
