Tranquility

Tranquility is an end-of-terrace cottage at Pendra Loweth, the Village of Gardens on the outskirts of Falmouth, in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. A stream runs alongside the property, and parking is next to it. Stable doors open into an open-plan living, kitchen and dining space with an electric fire, corner sofa and swivel TV.

It sleeps four, in a four-poster double with a 4ft 6in bed and a twin, both upstairs. The bathroom, also upstairs, has a bath with a shower over, and a cloakroom with a basin and WC is on the ground floor. The kitchen has white ceramic worktops, an oven and hob, microwave, fridge-freezer, dishwasher, washing machine and an espresso coffee machine. Heating is electric, and bed linen, towels, fuel, power and a starter pack for the fire are included.

Behind the cottage is a private patio with garden furniture and a barbecue, a shared hot tub and a shared lawn area. Resort facilities include a tennis court, a gym, a children's play area, a Jacuzzi and a small splash pool, about three metres across and 1.4 metres deep and limited to four people at a time. Bar, restaurant, pool and Jacuzzi keep seasonal hours, usually April to October. Off-road parking is for one car, with further visitor spaces. Car charging points are outside the office.

One small, well-behaved dog is welcome and must be on a lead on the estate. Smoking is not allowed, bookings must be for holiday or leisure, not work, and sign-written vans and commercial vehicles are not permitted on the estate. The two-bedroom layout suits a party of four; the one-small-dog rule makes it less good for anyone with a larger dog.
