Treveline

Treveline is a semi-detached house in the village of St Mabyn, with the shop and the pub both 0.2 miles away. The front door opens straight onto the street, while a path from the parking space leads down a short flight of steps to the rear garden and a second entrance.

Downstairs, a lobby leads to a cloakroom, a carpeted sitting room and an open-plan kitchen and dining area, where the table seats six. Patio doors open from here onto the garden. Upstairs are three bedrooms: a king-size with its own en-suite walk-in shower, a twin whose singles can be pushed together on request, and a single. The family bathroom has a bath with a shower over. Oil central heating is installed, and bed linen, towels, fuel and power are all included in the rent.

Outside, an enclosed courtyard with furniture sits at ground level, and the garden climbs in tiers above it, so there are steps to negotiate. Parking is off-road for one or two cars in the middle garage to the rear, and guests can also park on the road at the front for unloading. Dogs are welcome: two small dogs or one large dog, but not upstairs or on the furniture, and the owners ask that every area is left clean. Smoking is not allowed.

The changeover day is Saturday, and over Christmas and New Year only weekly bookings are taken. Treveline suits a family of five or a couple with friends who want a village base with dogs. It is less good for anyone who finds steps difficult, given the stairs inside and the tiered garden outside.
