Tumrose Cottage

Tumrose Cottage is a single-storey, two-bedroom property on the edge of Blisland village, sleeping 4 with 2 bathrooms. It has accessible features - the single-floor layout removes the need for stairs - and dogs are welcome, making it practical for walkers arriving with a pet.

The cottage has an open fire in the sitting room, a games room, and an outdoor BBQ area. The enclosed garden works well in summer. Practical inclusions: Wi-Fi, off-road parking, dishwasher, and washing machine. No hot tub or wood burner. Saturday changeover.

Blisland is one of the few Cornish villages built around a traditional green, with the Norman church of St Protus and St Hyacinth and the CAMRA-recognised Blisland Inn within a few minutes' walk. The Jubilee Rock, carved with coats of arms to celebrate the 1809 jubilee of George III, is about a mile onto the moor. The Camel Trail starts at Wenfordbridge, around 2 miles north, where the old railway bed runs west toward Bodmin and Padstow. Bodmin itself is 4 miles south for supermarkets and services. The north coast is further: Tregardock Beach is 7.6 miles, and Port Gaverne Beach near Port Isaac is 7.7 miles - worthwhile for a day trip but not within walking distance.

Best for: dog owners, walkers, and anyone who prefers moor and countryside over coast. Less suited to those who want beach access without a drive or need a luxury finish.
