Two Bare Feet

Two Bare Feet is a one-bedroom cottage in the hamlet of Rose, near Perranporth, sleeping 2. The address - Rosemerryn, Rose - puts it in farming countryside between the A30 and the coast, a rural base from which to reach north Cornwall's beaches and towns without being in the middle of a resort.

The cottage has one bedroom, one bathroom, an enclosed garden, and a BBQ. Dogs are welcome. Parking, Wi-Fi, dishwasher, and washing machine are all included. Friday changeover.

Perranporth Beach is about 2 miles by road - a 3-mile Atlantic-facing stretch backed by dunes and patrolled by lifeguards in summer, with surf schools and the Watering Hole bar built into the sand. Holywell Bay, a National Trust-protected beach with sand dunes, is about 3 miles. Truro is about 8 miles southeast, and Newquay roughly 10 miles northeast.

Best for: couples or solo travellers wanting a quiet rural retreat near the north Cornwall coast, with a dog and no requirement for the beach to be on the doorstep. Less good for: guests who want to walk to the beach or prefer a village or coastal setting; the location is genuinely rural and requires a car.
