Upper Gren is a four-bedroom detached bungalow in Trebetherick sleeping 8, with Greenaway Beach about 200 metres from the front door. Greenaway is a foot-access-only cove between Polzeath and Daymer Bay - considerably quieter than either of its neighbours and good for rock pooling.

The bungalow has four bedrooms, two bathrooms, and a games room with pool table, table tennis, and darts. An open fire handles colder evenings and a BBQ covers the garden in summer. The garden is lawned with a patio terrace. Wi-Fi, dishwasher, washing machine, and parking for three cars are all included. No dogs. Friday changeover.

Daymer Bay is a short walk south through the dunes - a sheltered estuary-edge beach popular with families. Polzeath surf beach is about 0.75 miles north on foot. Rock village and its restaurants are about 1.5 miles, with the seasonal water taxi to Padstow running from the waterfront. St Enodoc church, set among the dunes and where the poet John Betjeman is buried, is a short walk from the village lane.

Best for: families of 6-8 wanting two good beaches within walking distance, a games room for rainy days, and an open fire for evenings. Less good for: guests with dogs - this property does not accept them - or those wanting sea views from the property itself.
