Upperdeck

Upperdeck is a first-floor apartment on North Quay in Padstow, sleeping two in a king bedroom with en-suite shower. The open-plan lounge has floor-to-ceiling windows and French doors opening onto a private balcony with table and chairs directly above the harbour. The view takes in the working fishing quay and the Camel Estuary beyond - on the right evening, fishing boats are moored directly below.

The town’s core is at ground level outside the front door. Padstow’s fish restaurants - including those from the Rick Stein group, which runs several venues within a short walk - line the harbourside. The Black Tor ferry to Rock departs from the quay and crosses in under 10 minutes, opening up Daymer Bay and Polzeath on the east bank. The Camel Trail cycling route begins at the northern edge of town, following the estuary for 18 miles through to Bodmin.

For those wanting beach time, Daymer Bay is 2.3km by car, Trevone Bay is 2.8km, and Greenaway Beach is 2.9km. None are within easy walking distance, but all three are under 10 minutes by car. Parking is available nearby rather than on-site. One dog is welcome.

Best for couples who want a Padstow base at the water’s edge with no need for a car most days. The single king bedroom and compact footprint are intentional for two - it does not stretch to a family group or a third adult. Not great for those wanting sandy beach access from the front door, or anyone who needs quiet surroundings, as the harbourside gets busy during summer evenings.
