Wychwood Cottage - Cubert

Wychwood Cottage is a restored 18th-century, Grade II listed cottage in Cubert, sleeping four guests in one double and one twin bedroom that share a single bathroom. Original features run throughout the building, from exposed beams to period fireplaces typical of the village's older houses.

The enclosed garden gives the whole group private outdoor space. Parking, a dishwasher and washing machine are included, and up to two dogs can stay. There's no Wi-Fi, so anyone needing to stay connected should check mobile signal locally. Host Paula manages the booking, and from 2026 the changeover day moves to Friday.

Cubert is a small village about 3 miles south of Newquay, set back from the coast between two of north Cornwall's better-known beaches. Holywell Bay is 1.4 miles from the cottage, Porth Joke, also known as Polly Joke, is 1.5 miles and Crantock Beach, across the Gannel estuary, is 1.7 miles. The village centres on the 13th-century St Cubert's church and the Smugglers' Den Inn, and the Cubert guide has more on the surrounding Penhale Sands dune system.
