Skinners Brewery & Tapyard

Skinners has been brewing Cornish ales in Truro since 1997. The brewery went into administration in October 2022 and was bought by Goodh Brewing Co, based in Indian Queens, which kept the Skinners name and its core range, including Betty Stogs and Porthleven.

The Tapyard Riverside, the brewery’s bar and kitchen on Newham Road, opened on 1 July 2023 and is the main visitor experience. It has an indoor bar, large communal tables, an events room and shaded outdoor seating, and it is dog friendly and wheelchair accessible. CAMRA lists eight Skinners ales on hand pump, with Goodh craft beers on tap alongside.

The Tapyard’s own site lists a weekly pattern for autumn: taco nights on Tuesdays, a wing challenge on Wednesdays, a rack of ribs on Thursdays, live music on Fridays, a DJ on Saturdays and slow-cooked roasts on Sundays. Tables can only be booked for parties of 10 or more. The brewery’s website no longer lists brewery tours, so phone 01872 271885 before travelling if tours are the reason for your visit. Opening hours vary between listings (around noon to 10pm most days, earlier on Sundays), so check before you go.
