Church Close Cottage is a three-bedroom self-catering cottage in Cusgarne, a quiet village in the wooded Carnon Valley about 6 miles south-east of Truro. One of two cottages in the grounds of Cusgarne House, it sleeps six across three bedrooms and two bathrooms, with on-site parking and a dog-friendly policy for up to two dogs.

Inside, a wood burner anchors the sitting room and the kitchen comes with a dishwasher and washing machine - useful for week-long stays with a family or group. Ground-floor bedroom access makes it workable for guests who want to avoid stairs. The layout is compact and practical rather than grand.

Outside, the enclosed garden has a BBQ and is sheltered by the mature grounds of the wider Cusgarne House estate. The Carnon Valley around Cusgarne runs into the Bissoe Valley cycle trail along a former mining tramway - good for bike rides with children. Truro city centre is about 15 minutes by car, with Lemon Street's independent shops and the Hall for Cornwall. The Fal Estuary and Falmouth are roughly 12 miles, putting creekside pubs and town beach within reach.

Best for families or two couples wanting a rural Cornish base with good access to Truro and the south coast. Less suited to guests expecting a coastal location - the nearest beach is a 20-minute drive.
