Birch

Birch is a three-bedroom lodge at Killiow Golf Club near Carnon Downs, sleeping six with three en-suite bathrooms across a single ground floor. The accessible design - step-free throughout - makes it one of the more practical options in mid-Cornwall for guests with mobility requirements. A wood burner and open fire are included, and there is a garden and parking.

The lodge sits within the Killiow estate between Truro and Falmouth - both towns are around 15 minutes by car. Wifi, dishwasher, and washing machine are included. Changeover is Friday.

Trelissick Garden (National Trust) is the nearest notable attraction, a short drive south on the King Harry Ferry road where it overlooks the Fal estuary. The ferry crossing to the Roseland runs seasonally. Pendower Beach on the Roseland is 9.9km away; St Mawes harbour is 10.2km. Neither is close enough for an evening stroll on foot, so a car is needed throughout the stay.

Best for groups of six who need full accessibility alongside a central mid-Cornwall base. Less good for those wanting to walk to a beach - the coast is a 10-minute drive in any direction, and the lodge sits inland on a golf estate without pedestrian access to the sea.
