Trevone Natural Sea Pool

Trevone Natural Sea Pool, locally known as “Tinker Bunny’s Bathing Pool,” is a rock-carved tidal pool tucked just west of Trevone Bay on Cornwall’s North Coast. Naturally formed by centuries of wave action and reinforced with stone walls in the 1920s, the pool measures around 25 by 15 meters and offers varying depths, making it perfect for paddling or swimming during low tide. Easily reached with a short clamber from the nearby cliff path, the pool is surrounded by dramatic coastal scenery and filled with clear seawater, providing a serene, sheltered haven for wild swimmers, families, and anyone looking to enjoy one of Cornwall’s most scenic and tranquil sea pools.

The pool is free and has no opening hours: it is reached across the rocks at low tide and covered by the sea at high water, so check the tide tables before you set out and give yourself time to get back. Visit Cornwall rates it one of the largest tidal pools on the Cornish coast, and cold-water swimmers use it all year because the walls hold the water calm when the sea beyond is rough. Wear shoes with grip, as the rocks around the edge are uneven and weedy.

Trevone Bay next door has pay-and-display car parks, toilets (a small charge), a shop and a beach cafe, and RNLI lifeguards patrol the sand in summer - daily from 16 May to 27 September in 2026. On the cliff to the north of the beach, the Round Hole is an 80-foot blowhole formed by a collapsed sea cave, on a stretch of coast protected as a Site of Special Scientific Interest.
