Looe Lugger Classics runs from Friday 31 July to Sunday 2 August 2026. Historic fishing luggers and traditional gaff-rigged yachts gather in Looe Harbour for a weekend combining sailing in the bay with maritime activity on West Looe Quay.
The Cornish Lugger Association organises the regatta. Its 2026 event incorporates the Made-in-Looe Regatta, while the local council newsletter confirms races, heritage displays, music, food, talks and demonstrations at the Regatta Village in Mally’s Shed.
Visitor information
Dates: Friday 31 July to Sunday 2 August 2026.
Venue: Looe Harbour, Looe Bay and the West Looe Quayside Centre at Mally’s Shed.
Admission: Visitor admission isn’t clearly stated by the organiser. Boat entry forms and crew fees apply to participating crews, not spectators.
Programme: Sailing depends on weather and tide conditions. The organiser expects historic luggers and old-gaffer yachts, with shoreside music, food, photographs, maritime talks and practical demonstrations available even if conditions restrict racing.
Viewing: Boats assemble in and around the harbour before sailing in Looe Bay. Follow harbour directions and keep working quays, crew access and safety areas clear.
The dates are confirmed by both the event organiser and Looe Sailing Club. Exact race starts and Regatta Village performance times should be taken from the current programme when it is released.
