[Looe](/visit/looe/) is a working fishing town split across two sides of a river estuary, joined by a Victorian bridge. Fishing boats still land catches daily on the quayside. Looe Island, a Cornwall Wildlife Trust nature reserve, sits just offshore with boat trips running in summer. The coast path east leads to Whitsand Bay; west through woods to [Polperro](/visit/polperro/), one of Cornwall's best-preserved fishing villages, about 5 miles along the cliffs.
