SeaSpace Newquay

SeaSpace - formerly Sands Resort Hotel - is a coastal aparthotel between Porth Beach and Watergate Bay, about a mile north of Newquay. The property relaunched in 2024 as Cornwall’s first aparthotel, combining self-catering apartments with hotel-grade shared facilities. Guests who previously stayed at Sands Resort Hotel will find the same site with fully refurbished interiors and a wider choice of apartment sizes.

Apartments range from studios to three-bedroom units, with sea views available from many of them. Kitchens are fully equipped, and family apartments include bunk rooms alongside king-size beds. Shared facilities include an indoor pool, a gym, and padel courts on site. An on-site café and restaurant serve food throughout the day. Dogs are welcome, and the property has accessible units - confirm specific requirements at booking. There is no on-site parking, so car access requires using nearby public car parks.

Whipsiderry Beach is 300 metres from the site - a sheltered cove accessible via steps at low tide. Watergate Bay, a nearly 2-mile Atlantic beach popular with surfers and kitesurfers, is 0.9 miles north. The Extreme Academy watersports school operates from Watergate Bay. Mawgan Porth, 1.9 miles north, is a quieter family-friendly beach. Newquay town centre is a short drive for further restaurants and nightlife.

Best for activity-focused breaks and families who want hotel-level amenities combined with self-catering flexibility, direct sea views, and quick beach access. Less good for guests who need on-site parking or a quiet rural setting.
